Meet the Compass Team

Jason Schlutt is the principal and founder of Compass Solutions, Inc. Previously, Jason served as the West Coast Project and Development Services leader for Cassidy Turley/DTZ/Cushman & Wakefield. In 2010, he started the Cassidy Turley practice, growing the group to 15 team members and generating over $5M of annual revenue. Some of the notable assignments in his tenure were Oracle, Facebook, and Flextronics. 

Prior to Cassidy Turley, Jason served as a project manager for Shore Associates, a real estate consulting firm in the Greater Bay Area, and as a project engineer for DPR Construction. Among his many achievements in over 20 years of managing construction projects, Jason was chosen to work on Adobe Systems’ high-rise tower in San Jose, CA and the Yahoo! Headquarters complex in Sunnyvale, CA. His success at the Yahoo! Headquarters led to the build-out of over 2 million square feet for Yahoo! in both Northern and Southern California. Jason has managed over 20 million square feet of projects throughout his career, including program management and build-to-suit projects. He possesses a degree in civil engineering from the University of Wisconsin – Madison, and is a LEED accredited professional.

Before beginning his career in project management, Jason pitched for the San Diego Padres' minor league affiliate teams in Spokane, WA, Springfield, IL, and Rancho Cucamonga, CA. Later on, he served as the closing pitcher for the Saint Paul Saints, a team in the independent Northern League. As the Saints’ closing pitcher he finished second in 1997 in the Midwest league in total saves. 

Before partnering with Compass Solutions, Chris was most recently a client himself and managed all Bay Area capital and tenant improvement projects for Beacon Capital Partners. He has also started, operated, and sold a private project management consulting business as well as held a real estate leadership role at Yahoo! Chris started his career working for a general contractor as a preconstruction manager. 

Chris has a reputation in the community for being driven, creative, and fair in his decision making and team building. With his background in commercial redevelopment, development of complex hospitals, time sensitive educational institutions, and complicated technology and life science builds, Chris utilizes a wide range of problem-solving methods to bring projects in on time and under budget.  

Monira is an Assistant Project Manager working alongside principal and founder Jason Schlutt.  She is responsible for administrative tasks including, but not limited to drafting proposals/RFPs, project cost tracking, and preparing draw packages with a 100% success rate in recovering over $30M in Tenant Improvement Allowance for clients. Furthermore, she leads furniture and signage installations, and manages relocation projects and fit-up procedures.

Prior to joining Compass Solutions, Monira exceled as a project coordinator with Cassidy Turley’s (now Cushman & Wakefield) Project and Development Services Team supporting a total of 9 Project Managers. She trained closely with the Sustainability Director researching and documenting LEED credits for projects nationwide. Remarkably, she served as the entire company’s only revenue-generating project coordinator by independently completing the process that clients needed to comply with California’s AB1103.

Before joining the Compass Solutions team, Nathan managed projects as a client at a large hotel & commercial development group, T2 Hospitality. Before that, he was a project engineer for a general contractor. Working for a general contractor, a developer/client, and now a construction project manager, he brings a wealth of knowledge and years of experience.

Nathan is well-versed in various aspects of project management, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, resource allocation, and problem solving. Nathan has a proven track record of successfully assisting in the management of complex construction projects, from initiation to completion, while maintaining high-quality standards and adhering to project timelines and budgets. Nathan’s experience consists mostly of ground up development and construction.
